Description
Also known by two other names, kalonji and black onion seed, these tiny black seeds are used as a spice in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine. They have a slightly bitter, savoury and peppery flavour that becomes sweeter when lightly toasted. Nigella seeds can be used in cooked and raw vegetables dishes, in crackers, flatbreads, toppings, dips, pickles and curry pastes.
