Description
Also known as groats, these steel cut oats are made from whole Australian organically grown oat grains. With the bran remaining, the outer husk only is removed and the groat is cut into small pieces using a steel blade. Steel cut oats have a fresh nutty flavour and can be used for making porridge, in baking for both sweet and savoury dishes, or for a change, as alternative to rice or quinoa as an accompaniment to a main meal. Steel cut oats require longer cooking than rolled oats and can be soaked overnight to reduce cooking time.
